Abstract:The work aims to increase the utilization rate of campus public space and improve the quality of public environment. Seven basic preferences of university students about the public space environment style of campus are sorted out by depth interviews. With questionnaire survey as the tool, a statistical analysis is carried out among the necessity of building new public space, the basic attributes of respondents and the preference of campus space environment style by statistical methods. According to the results, there are significant associations among seven environment style preferences and significance is displayed between "necessity of building new space" and "fashion and taste uniqueness". The independent sample t test and the one-factor variance analysis between student attributes and style preferences indicate that apart from gender factors, the academic background and grade differences have different degrees of influence on environment style preference.
