Application of Dunhuang Culture MPV Interiors Color Design Based on Color Harmony Theory

Abstract

By taking MPV interior space as the carrier, and focusing on the application of traditional Dunhuang cultural colors in modern automotive interior design, the work aims to explore its potential in spatial atmosphere creation and cultural image translation. Based on the functional attributes of MPV interiors, the interior areas are divided through primary and secondary function mapping, and the corresponding relationships between different functional regions and color lightness, saturation, as well as chromatic/achromatic colors are summarized. With the images of Dunhuang cultural heritage as samples, representative Dunhuang colors are obtained through color extraction and cluster analysis. Combined with color harmony theory, multi-color combinations are screened to form color schemes for MPV interiors, and feedback on aesthetic effects is collected through user perception questionnaires. The results show that traditional Dunhuang cultural colors have good adaptability and feasibility in MPV interiors, and applicable positions and application suggestions for traditional cultural colors in automotive interiors are proposed.
