Under the paradigm of human-centered urban development led by the Art City ecosystem theory, a demand for the renewal and transformation of Chinese subway spaces has progressively arisen. Coupling this with China's distinctive modernization path for Art Cities, the work aims to put forward an emotion-oriented methodology and conceptual framework for the artistic design of subway public spaces. Based on the theoretical framework of the Art City ecosystem, the philosophy of Atmosphere Aesthetics and the design principles of Pleasure Aesthetics are integrated organically. By examining typical cases of public art practice in Chinese and international subway systems, the innovative methods and implementation strategies for creating an emotional field in subways are analyzed systematically. The concept of public art is evolving from the intervention of individual artworks in urban space to the holistic design of an artistically integrated city. In this process, applying the principles of Pleasure Aesthetics to urban subway systems can effectively enhance the emotional atmosphere of the space. By emphasizing the value and significance of emotional design, it facilitates a paradigm shift in spatial design from "Form Follows Function" to "Form Follows Emotion."
