In graphic and image post-processing software and Meitu APP, filter is indispensable and vital, but it is often misunderstood by the public that it includes all photo editing functions. The work aims to sort out the development context of filter, clarify the relationship with special effects and beauty mode, and summarize its characteristics and classification. By analyzing the process and method of mass participation redesign in Meitu APP, it is concluded that the filter is an effective entry point for redesign of Meitu APP for the mass.
