With the concept of cultural confidence put forward in China, the related research on intangible cultural heritage has gradually become a hot topic of discussion from all walks of life. In recent years, many scholars have participated in the discussion of intangible cultural heritage and innovation from various fields, and achieved a series of important achievements, which greatly expands the connotation and extension of intangible cultural heritage research in China. However, due to that few scholars have sorted out its research and development context, the planning mode of inheritance and innovation development of intangible cultural heritage at this stage, as well as the focus of various disciplines participating in intangible cultural heritage and innovation research can not be systematically presented. Based on this, the birth origin of intangible cultural heritage and its inheritance and innovation work is sorted out firstly. Secondly, starting from the “original ecology” and “living state” of intangible cultural heritage inheritance research ideas, the research status and progress of intangible cultural heritage protection and development related literature in China are combed and analyzed to get the conclusion that the recording and preservation of intangible cultural heritage and integration and innovation can go hand in hand. Finally, it is found that only by adhering to the inheritance and development mode of “keeping the truth + making the innovation”, can the spirit of intangible cultural heritage be inherited to innovate the forms of intangible cultural heritage, and then enhance the confidence of national culture.
